Job Description

The ER & HR Compliance Partner supports the Executive Director of ER and the ER Specialists in assisting the Superintendent, Human Resources Officer and administrators in improving work performance of certified and non-certified employees, complying with federal and state employment laws and regulations, and adhering to Board of Education policies. This position frequently works with CMS legal department, EEOC investigators, and employee groups. The ER & HR Compliance Partner is responsible for providing consultation to Principals, Department Heads and Managers in more complex employment matters. The manager conducts confidential investigations into allegations of serious violations of Board policies, such as sexual harassment, inappropriate student contact, criminal offenses, falsification of documents, student testing misadministration, etc. and consults with supervisors to determine what, if any, disciplinary action should be taken.

This position is responsible for making impartial decisions to ensure fair employment practices with respect to discipline, termination process and performance management. This position requires a high level of independence, accuracy, sound judgment and expertise to determine appropriate methods of handling a very high volume of complex legal and disciplinary issues to mitigate risks and minimize the district’s potential exposure to serious legal, economic, political, or other negative repercussions. The ER & HR Compliance Partner is involved in investigations of both senior level employees and other staff and maintains confidentiality of very sensitive matters and information.

The ideal individual for this position:

Is Experienced in HR Practices –You will investigate into allegations of serious violations of Board policies, and ensure consistent and fair HR practices are followed in compliance with federal, state and local laws.
Is aStrong Communicator –You will be providing consultation to Principals, Department Heads, Managers, and Employees.
Is Collaborative– You will work closely with CMS legal department, EEOC investigators, and employee groups.
Qualifications:

Degree in Human Resources, or related field
Five years progressive HR experience and significant Employee Relations knowledge
Investigatory experience
Desired Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Human Resources, or related field, or Juris Doctorate
Seven years progressive Human Resource experience including Employee Relations experience and supervisory responsibilities
This is a 12 month position with an annual salary ranging from $62,233.60 - $79,289.60.
